    I guess if he was walking across the road, he had escaped the alternative Thanksgiving venue!

    I can just hear the turkey's inner dialogue now..."dang nab it....if I can just cross this road I'll be home free!"

    I also passed a couple of turkeys crossing the road earlier in the month! So funny! But that's a little too fresh for my taste....
